What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over your information.

Privacy Policy

We collect only the information needed to operate the marketplace safely. For riders that is your name, mobile number, email address, city, trip pickup and destination details, and live location while a trip is active. For drivers it additionally includes your South African ID or passport, driver's licence, vehicle registration certificate, proof of address, vehicle photographs and vehicle details.

Identity and vehicle documents are stored in a private storage area that is not publicly accessible. They are visible only to the driver who uploaded them and to platform administrators carrying out verification, compliance or dispute work.

Live location is used while a trip is being requested, matched or driven, so that nearby drivers can be found and the rider can follow the vehicle. Riders may share a live trip status link with a contact of their choosing; that sharing is initiated by the rider and can be stopped at any time.

Trip records, fare breakdowns, ratings and cash settlement records are retained for accounting, safety and dispute purposes. Payment card details are never stored by us — card settlement is processed by our payment provider, Yoco.

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the driver or rider on a matched trip (limited to what the other party needs to complete the trip), with our payment provider for settlement, and with authorities where the law requires it.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may request access to the information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for deletion where we are not required to retain it. Requests can be sent through the Contact page.

This policy is a working draft. Before live operation it must be reviewed by a qualified practitioner, and a formal Information Officer must be appointed and registered.

Review notice. This wording is a working draft. Before live operation it must be reviewed by a qualified South African legal practitioner, including POPIA handling of identity documents, addresses and live location data.
